The Means

A Specialized Team

Gauder Group Bow Technology

Bows are developed in a real technical partnership thanks to the collaboration with the major cable makers.

The team is composed of a dedicated staff to comparative studies, trials, customisation and upgrade of obsolete designs :

  • R&D Engineers specialised in materials
  • Design Officers working on Autocad 3D pro-engineer
  • Trials Engineers testing new models onto the Bow Testing Machine (see below)

High Technology Components

Main components are in stock to compose prototypes in short times :

  • “High module” components (aeronautics qualification) : pre-shaped carbon fibres, aramide reinforced materials, …
  • Low friction coatings selected according to the product to run : chrome-plated wear strip, polished wear strip , “Topslide”, plastic material, …
  • Wide range of wire path accessories in stock : eyelets (ceramic, carbide, ...), wedges, tubes, …

An Exclusive Equipment for Trials

Gauder Group Bow Technology

The Bow Testing Machine (“MTL”) enables to consistently get the best out of bows, according to the different products and machine types.

The equipment simulates twinning / stranding machines to check vibrations levels, deformation, electrical power consumption, sound levels and friction of the product inside the bow.

Gauder Group Bow Technology

  • Reels : 560 to 1250 mm
  • Speed : up to 4000 RPM (up to 8000 TPM)

According to the results obtained on the Bow Testing Machine, new models are regularly upgraded and adapted to customer needs : better durability of the parts, vibration and mass reduction.

Indeed, if the bow is not appropriated, the power consumption can be increased, as well as the tension (up to 25%). The mass is also capital for the main bearing housing lifetime on a strander.
